As you may be aware, the new owners along with Lapworth architects have sent out over 2000 questionnaires to the local residents on the future of Great Barr Hall.
Hayley has alerted myself to an online version of this (LINK) which is available for all Pheasey residents and other interested parties to take part in.
Peter Allen seems to have stirred up some controversy over his views in the Great Barr Observer. I understand where Peter is coming from but on this occasion I feel he is wrong.
It is good that the local residents and others can have their say. My concern is that there are a lot of options and answers could be spread thinly as not to give a clear result. Also with no idea of the actual costs I think it is difficult to say what can be achieved.
However I urge everyone who reads this blog to take part and have your say.
I have added in these comments.
This is a useful exercise but I feel that a lot of the options are actually in fact very easy to answer positively to.
What is unclear is how much the new owners have to spend on the area and what they would need to generate in commercial income.
I would like to see something on there that gives some facilities to the residents of Nether Hall who are isolated and that benefit the areas of Pheasey, Great Barr and Oscott. It is often forgotten in the discussions on the hall that it belongs to more than just Walsall Council and is an important bridge on the areas of three councils.
I would like to see some joint initiative between Walsall, Birmingham and Sandwell that brings into use this valuable asset.
I really do feel that this is a genuine effort from the owners. I hope their momentum continues, and we get to see something beautiful.
As for Peter Allen, he has lot points in my book. I thought someone who has fought so hard for the Hall would have got behind something like this survey, rather than cause trouble and putting forward such a newspaper article, which could potentially lead people in the wrong direction. It’s a Shame.
Please can we stop those bikers every weekend. They race around the lake scaring wildlife and anyone in their way. Beautiful scenery ruined by their noise and smoke fumes.

I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s equally
educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you have hit the
nail on the head. The problem is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I stumbled across this during my search for something regarding this.
