This weekend sees Barr Beacon hosting the 5KM Turkey Trot and also the Beacon Wonderland. Associated with this is also a Christmas Fayre at the Collingwood Centre.

Funds raised will go towards Walsall Hospice.

Councillor Adrian Andrew, Barr Beacon Trust chairman, said: “This is an important community event that highlights and supports the Heritage Lottery Fund restoration project work as well as a vital charity appeal.

“It is bringing the local community together with involvement from the Collingwood Centre as well as the hospice and promises to be a magical day out that will fill people with Christmas spirit.

“Beacon Wonderland is a fantastic way to raise awareness of this important site while allowing visitors the chance to enjoy some old-fashioned Christmas cheer and support Walsall Hospice.”
