The list of local councillors expenses have been released on the Express and Star.
As all our councillors are cabinet members then they receive cabinet allowances as well
Mike Bird – £29,390.37
Adrian Andrew – £18,680.40
Chris Towe – £18,688.53

In the newspaper story where Mike tells us he is “worth twice as much” he also claims that he works so many hours on council business that his pay amounts to £1.64 an hour.
Now on a wage of £29,000 that means he is working 345 hours per week.. I don’t know about you but the last time I looked there was only 168 hours in a week.

The real cabinet in Westminster voted for a 5% reduction in thier pay. As “we are all in it together” it would be good to see this in the Walsall Cupboard
