Today received notification of the boundary commissions review. To the surprise of no one nothing will change for us in Pheasey.
Please see link here and the section on Pheasey and the commissions comments to my points.
The basic issue is that the commissions are not allowed to suggest other anything than wards elected in thirds and therefore every ward would need 3 councillors and Phease/Park Farm and Nether Hall as a stand alone is not large enough on it own’s to have three.
As I say I am not surprised and does mean IMO that Orchard Hills still in the same ward as myself are left out even from my thinking. Frankly I do not care about them for any local issue, it is irrelevant to my life as I lead it.
I will not be countering this because the law/rules are clear.
On a wider point there have been small changes to wards but nothing significant at all and quite static.
Valerie Vaz made a good point about moving to all out elections. something that seems to be in favour within Labour circles. I am not sure of this, I love elections and the more the merrier !! However there is a very good point about stability on a 4 year election cycle.
Would love to hear any views on this in the comments.
As for the McDonalds planning decision, nothing has happened as of yet other than time for the application has been extended.
As someone who submitted a response I would be informed when the planning committee will sit for it but nothing said yet.
Wonder what is being said in the background ?
