So McDonald’s did their own consultation as I posted before and no idea what the results of this were.
But now they are pressing forward with the full application HERE application number 23/0669

Let me quite clear my concern for this development is not NIMBYISM at all. It is all about the location proposed and especially the awfully ramifications on the already very dangerous Queslett Island. there is a traffic survey on the link under documents and plans and it is a very long read and tried to do it quickly.
It is a factual document of course but as someone who uses the island almost daily the thought of having a MCD’s here in this location with the inevitable extra traffic is repellant.
I can not imagine just how hard it will be to come off Collingwood when this is done and it is bloody dangerous at this time already.
This is the conclusion of the traffic report and anyone living here must see this for the nonsense it is and I urge anyone who disagrees to contact myself and we can stand there for a few hours at peak and judge for yourself.

I urge all councillors on planning stand there for a day and just watch the traffic, it is horrific now and I have called for years for action on the Queslett and nothing, the only camera we had was burnt down and never replaced.
What more can I say really ?
I will be replying to the application in the strongest terms possible on traffic grounds.
If you feel so like minded then do the same and also contact either councillors Towe or Andrews … Please note Councillor Bird can not engage in this as the chair of planning.
The councillors email is ppfcouncillors@gmail.com
My response to the application is as below.
I wish to object to this in the strongest possible terms on traffic grounds.
Daily I will use the Queslett Island, mainly by bike or sometimes by car. The state of the driving around it is appalling and the mere traffic statistics alone does not tell the full story. You will see drivers often try and edge through gapes that are not there.
To add a McDonalds here with large traffic flows at certain times of the day is a recipe for disaster. Romney road exit/entrance onto the island is already a mess as gaps are often not there due to constant flow of traffic from the ASDA Queslett.
How are busses supposed to get out from the bus refugee onto the island from there, busses that are very frequent – 33, 934, 997, 5 and can see queues already at peak times.
There is no traffic mitigation plan here so a lot of people will go up Romney drive and through the rest of that part of the estate to escape the island.
the traffic analysis is detailed but lacks a basic understanding of what happens here that has someone who has lived all their life in Pheasey understands.
